MultiChlor is a 12.5% sodium hypochlorite liquid chlorine sanitizer especially formulated for disinfecting and sanitizing food processing equipment.  It also controls odor, destroys molds, and chlorinates the water supply.

MultiChlor is recommended for sanitizing equipment and surfaces on dairy farms, in dairy plants, meat and poultry plants, food processing plants, breweries, and beverage plants.  MultiChlor is also recommended for disinfection of potable water for home well water systems and for swimming pool chlorination. 

Use Instructions
Sanitizing Non-Porous Surfaces of Food Processing and Dairy Equipment
:  Clean equipment in the normal manner.  Just before using, rinse all surfaces thoroughly with MultiChlor sanitizer.  Surface must maintain contact with sanitizer for a minimum of two minutes.  Do not rinse with water, do not soak overnight.  Addition of one fluid ounce of MultiChlor per 5 gallons of water provides approximately 200 ppm available chlorine by weight.

Sanitizing Potable Water in Food Processing Plants:  MultiChlor may be used to sanitize the process water of meat and poultry food processing plants by adding a maximum of one ounce of MultiChlor per each 200 gallons of water (provides 5 ppm available chlorine maximum).  MultiChlor must be dispensed at a constant and uniform level.  The method of system of dispensing must be such that a controlled rate is maintained.

Food Egg Sanitization:  Thoroughly clean all eggs.  Thoroughly mix 2 ounces of this product with 10 gallons of warm water to produce a 200 ppm available chlorine solution.  The sanitizer temperature should not exceed 130°F.  Spray the warm sanitizer so that the eggs are thoroughly wetted.  Allow the eggs to thoroughly dry before casing or breaking.  Do not apply a potable water rinse.  The solution should not be reused to sanitize eggs.

Other Non-Sanitizing Uses:
Cleaning Additive:  MultiChlor can be added to alkaline cleaners or their cleaning solutions to enhance that products' cleaning action, especially for the removal of proteinaceous soils.  MultiChlor should be added in amounts sufficient to accomplish the intended purpose.  After the cleaning operation is finished, rinse all surfaces thoroughly with potable water.
Washing and Peeling of Fruits and Vegetables:  MultiChlor may be used to wash or to assist in the lye peeling of fruits and vegetables, not to exceed 0.2% active ingredient in accordance with the regulations found in 21 CFR 173.315.  Mix no more than 2 fluid ounces of MultiChlor per gallon of water.  Rinse food with potable water.

DANGER:  Corrosive, may cause severe skin irritation or chemical burns to broken skin.
Causes eye damage.  Do not get into eyes, on skin, or on clothing.  Wear goggles or face shield and rubber gloves when handling this product.  Wash thoroughly after handling.  Avoid breathing vapors.  Vacate poorly ventilated areas as soon as possible.  Do not return until odors have dissipated.  Keep out of reach of children.

Environmental Hazards:  This pesticide is toxic to fish.  Keep out of lakes, streams, and ponds.  Treated effluent may not be discharged into lakes, streams, ponds, or public waters without a valid discharge permit.  For guidance, contact the regional office of the Environmental Protection Agency.

Physical and Chemical Hazards, Strong Oxidizing Agent:  Mix only with water according to label directions.  Mixing this product with gross filth such as feces, urine, etc., or ammonia, acids, detergents, or other chemicals may release hazardous gas irritating to eyes, lungs, and mucous membranes.

First Aid
Eyes:  Flush immediately with copious amounts of tap water for a minimum of 15 minutes.  Get medical attention.

External:  In case of contact on the skin, wash with plenty of soap and water.  Remove and launder contaminated clothing.  If irritation occurs, get medical attention.

Internal:  If swallowed, drink large quantities of milk, or gelatin solution, or, if these are not available, drink large quantities of water.  Do not give vinegar or other acids.  Do not induce vomiting.  Get prompt medical attention.
