Use Instructions
It is a violation of federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
Not for Residential Use:  For general cleaning and disinfecting use 3 ounces of Iodu to 5 gallons of water.  For hospital use or at low water temperatures (as low as 5¢ªC), use 6 ounces of Iodu to 5 gallons of water.  Remove heavy soil deposits before application of the disinfecting solution.  For sanitizing previously cleaned food contact surfaces, use 1 ounce of Iodu in 5 gallons of water.  This dilution provides 25 ppm titratable iodine.
Hospitals:  Use as recommend above, in animal rooms and cages, cafeterias, commercial freezers, morgues, laboratories, operating areas, patient rooms, bed frames, wall floors, thermometers, and rubber gloves.  Allow at least 10 minutes contact time, then drain surface but do not rinse.  Follow directions for food plants when using on food handling surfaces.
Surgical and Medical Instruments:  Surgical/medical instruments, tubing, and catheters should be cleaned to remove all adhering blood and serious exudates before disinfecting.  Flush and fill the lumen of hollow instruments, avoiding entrapment of air bubbles.  Then immerse the equipment in a solution of 6 ounces Iodu in 5 gallons of water, allowing at least 10 minutes of contact time.
Commercial Buildings, Institutions, and General Housekeeping:  Use 3 ounces of Iodu per 5 gallons of water for cleaning and disinfecting floors, walls, lavatories, shower rooms, refuse containers, kitchen areas, and lunch rooms.  Allow at least 10 minutes contact time.  At low water temperatures (as low as 5¢ªC) use 6 ounces to 5 gallons of water.  Follow directions for food plants when using on food handling surfaces.
Food Plants:  To sanitize food processing equipment and utensils, which were first washed in a suitable detergent and rinsed in potable water, use 1oz. Iodu in each gallon of water.  Spray or immerse equipment, allowing solution to remain on surfaces for a minimum of 1 minute.  Then drain but do not rinse.  When used at this dilution (1:640), Iodu does not require a potable water rinse, in accordance with the Federal Food Additive Regulation 178.1010.
