Circ Tech 7550

Circ Tech 7550 is a silicate based corrosion inhibitor designed for closed systems containing both ferrous and yellow metals and minimal heat transfer.  Silicates are considered to be relatively non-toxic and do not act as a nutrient for microbes.  When used at the recommended levels the silicates should provide corrosion protection by creating an anodic protective film on the metal piping.  If used in systems containing aluminum, the system pH should be maintained between 7.8 and 8.3.  If used in systems that do not contain aluminum, pH levels should be maintained between 8.5 and 10.5.

Recommended Uses
If Used in Systems Filled with De-ionized Water
:  Product should be dosed into the system at a rate of 6 - 12 ounces per 100 gallons of system water.  The level can be determined with a silica test kit by testing the system water and then subtracting the silica test results of the feed water.  At this dosage the system water should have an increase of 40 -80 ppm silicate over the feed water.
If Used in Systems with Average to Low Hardness:  Product should be dosed into the system at a rate of 1.5 - 3.0 ounces per 100 gallons of system water.  The level can be determined with a silica test kit by testing the system water and then subtracting the silica test results of the feed water.  At this dosage the system water should have increase of 10 - 20 ppm silicate over the feed water.
Product should not be used in systems containing high levels of chlorides.
Product should not be overfed of used in high temperature applications as deposition may occur.
Product should not be used in systems with high hardness as precipitation may occur.
